The Monterey Park Cherry Blossom Festival has come and gone. Good job Bombu, Kitsune, & TAIKOPROJECT! Our first joint set went smoothly (um...except for our drum miscount in Matsuri), but hey, now we know... Coming up next, TAIKOPROJECT plays a free family concert for the El Sereno Music Festival on Saturday, April 29. Also, check out the new Rhythmic Relations 2006 website! It's just a preliminary site, but we'll be adding more and more to it as we get closer and closer to the big show! Tickets are on sale now!!!

Whew! We just finished eight performances in the last six days! First, we performed down in Orange County for the opening of the Fullerton Arboretum's new Nikkei Heritage/Visitor Center, we gave workshops at the Village School in Pacific Palisades, we performed at George "the Moonman" Abe's alma mater, Manual Arts High School (where they also liked Maz, because their initials are "MAHS" and they were like "this guy's named after our school!), again at Astavita's "Breakfast of Champions" at the Natural Products Expo in Anaheim, at a wedding reception in Hacienda Heights, and today at Palm Crest Elementary School in La Canada/Flintridge.

Bryan heads out to Vancouver for the weekend to work with Chibi Taiko on their new song, which they'll debut at this summer's Powell Street Festival! In other news, the TAIKOPROJECT photo galleries have reached over 20,000 visits since its first photo gallery was posted--from the 2003 Tofu Festival way back in the day...to date, there are now 103 photo galleries, and the most viewed one is the Paris By NIght 75 gallery with 4,291 visits...

This weekend, TAIKOPROJECT and Kitsune Taiko get together for a photo shoot promoting their upcoming show at the Ford Amphitheatre in July! Coming up next, Bryan heads out to Vancouver in mid-March to work with Chibi Taiko on a new song, and in a couple weeks, Bombu Taiko and Yukai Daiko get together for their photo shoot for the Ford!

Jen and Bryan are back from Vegas! Special thanks to director extraordinaire Frank Boehm and drum leader Scott Vomvolakis for all their work to put together taiko drumming, Brazilian/African/western drumming, Irish step dancing, Chinese acrobatics, stilt walkers, hip hop dancers, and Samba dancers into one song and make it work (we'll try to get video for this one, folks). This Thursday, Bryan and Julia play for the Spring collection showing of DIESEL at the Avalon Club in Hollywood...

Maz, Julia, and Bruno just got back from a performance in Desert Hot Springs, and tonight, Bryan and Jen head out to Las Vegas for a corporate performance at the Mandalay Bay Casino for a Staples corporate conference. In other news, plans for the Rhythmic Relations 2006 concert on Saturday, July 8, at the Ford Amphitheatre with Bombu Taiko, Kitsune Taiko, and Yukai Daiko are in full swing...tickets will be available at the beginning of April! Next week, TAIKOPROJECT plays at their first-ever fashion show, for the Spring collection of DIESEL.

The first TAIKOPROJECT news update from Amsterdam....since we're here for five hours in between our Dubai flight here and our flight from here back to L.A. Many wacky photos from our Dubai tour coming soon, and if all goes well, the very first "TP Boyz" music video, conceived, shot, and edited by our very own Yuta Kato featuring the aerialists of Anti-Gravity Orlando and Las Vegas magician Arian Black.

Our first TAIKOPROJECT news update from Dubai! Things here are going well for the TAIKOPROJECT performances for Nissan/Infiniti here and the guys have already had a chance to go driving around in the sand dunes, smoke a little hookah pipe (harmless, really), and even ride a camel or two...
