After a long class hiatus (it's been too busy of a year to facilitate new taiko classes), the TAIKOPROJECT is pleased to offer Beginners' Taiko Classes for Youth and Adults starting in mid-September! 08.24.06 Our next public performance will be at Bar Sinister in Hollywood on Saturday, September 9! So far, it's our latest showtime, at 11:45 pm, the first time we've performed in a bar/nightclub (Sorry, Kitsune Taiko members, this one's 21 + over), and the only venue that's offered us Red Bull as part of our backstage amenities...

08.08.06 Everyone's back in town! Now, to get to work... We have a performance in Baldwin Park on Thursday, collaboration with At Last on Saturday, and then the Tofu Festival on Sunday! You can also check out Bombu Taiko at the Nisei Week Parade on Sunday! Also just posted, a new listing sheet of corporate clients and production companies that TAIKOPROJECT has worked with over the past few years.
08.03.06 The TAIKOPROJECT website just underwent a face-lift of sorts. Click on the links above to see the new header images and updated performance and gallery listings! Meanwhile...Bryan is up in Vancouver for his final residency with Chibi Taiko, funded by the 2010 Legacies Now Initiative, Maz is in Mt. Shasta to perform with his parents at ShastaYama 2006, Courtney's finishing up her summer intensive in Portland, Aya's completing her internship in San Francisco, and Bruno, Yuri, and Jen are holding down the fort back in L.A. 07.19.06 We're back from Japan! Whew...that was a lot of travel for a 15-minute performance...but it was a lot of fun. A lot of wet, rainy fun. Pictures coming soon and a video that may just be funnier than the Courtney Dance video...for now, let's just call it the Sleeping Bruno with Mint video. The next TAIKOPROJECT performance is next week at Higashi Honganji's Obon Festival. Also, check out some of the new downloads on our media page.
07.15.06 Greetings from Ishikawa-ken, Japan! Today, the TAIKOPROJECT arrived after about 24 hours of travel by car, plane, Narita Express, Shinkansen, and Asano Taiko bus to participate in the EXTASIA Festival! Check out the BrunoBlog for photos and updates from our trip!

06.12.06 As promised, the first ever TAIKOPROJECT Audition Application is available here! Be sure to also check out the Audition Info Sheet here as well. In the meantime, the latest news is that 700 seats have been sold for Rhythmic Relations 2006! And 5,000 postcards are going out in the mail, so get your seats soon! Also, special thanks to Kenny Endo, as we modeled our application much after the Taiko Center of the Pacific's audition application. On that note, we'd like to congratulate former TAIKOPROJECT member Kelsey "Sam" Furuta for being selected as one of Kenny's 2006 Fellowship awardees! Good luck in Hawaii, Kelse! It's all about Zippy's and the Zip Pack....mmmmm....Zip Pack...
06.07.06 Getting busy...the big show, Rhythmic Relations 2006 is just about a month away! Ticket sales are rolling along with half of the tickets sold and song rehearsals are now in intense show mode! In other news...TAIKOPROJECT is pleased to announce its first Open Auditions, which will take place on July 22. Applications will be posted here next week, but download the Audition Info Sheet here for some of the basic details...
05.25.06 Busy times...but finally had time to post photos to our web galleries! Check out photo albums from the Mazda Dealers Meeting, the Producers' Guild's Celebration of Diversity, and the Long Beach Museum of Art's Children's Cultural Festival. Plans for Rhythmic Relations 2006 are moving at light speed! Bombu Taiko will be debuting two new songs, Kitsune Taiko is debuting one new song and new arrangements and five new members, Yukai Daiko is playing two new arrangements, and TAIKOPROJECT is rearranging four of their songs to debut at the show. Have you gotten your tickets yet?
05.09.06 Performances at the Long Beach Museum of Art and for Mazda went well--getting ready now for a performance tonight for the Producer's Guild of America in Beverly Hills. Artist interviews and jpeg postcards just added to the Rhythmic Relations 2006 website! Ticket sales are rolling along! Two months away from the show and so far we've sold a quarter of the house!!
05.03.06 Tomorrow we head down to San Diego to perform for Mazda's Annual Dealers' Meeting! Then, back to L.A. for our last residency classes at Pt. Fermin Elementary School in San Pedro, and a weekend performance at the Long Beach Museum of Art.

04.24.06 The Monterey Park Cherry Blossom Festival has come and gone. Good job Bombu, Kitsune, & TAIKOPROJECT! Our first joint set went smoothly (um...except for our drum miscount in Matsuri), but hey, now we know... Coming up next, TAIKOPROJECT plays a free family concert for the El Sereno Music Festival on Saturday, April 29. Also, check out the new Rhythmic Relations 2006 website! It's just a preliminary site, but we'll be adding more and more to it as we get closer and closer to the big show! Tickets are on sale now!!!
