Last night, we were in the recording studio with music producer Sam Spiegel for five hours, recording about a dozen taiko tracks for Kanye West's upcoming spring tour! Check out his concert if it comes to your town, and when you hear taiko really pounding out some bass on his songs like "Stronger," "Gold Digger," and "Touch the Sky", that's TAIKOPROJECT layin' it down. Word.

Just got back from the Tekken movie shoot. Thank you to Felicia, who drove us from Dallas to Shreveport and back, and congratulations to the production staff and crew, for finishing up a long three-month shoot for the film. All we had to do was come in for the last day of shooting for Heihachi Mishima's grand speech scene. We'll see how it all turns out next year!

Lotta stuff going down on the TP front. First, check out the new downloads for Rhythmic Relations 2008! We have a new postcard designed by Bombu Taiko member Mari Nakano, and a new poster by Kitsune Taiko member Andrew Breitborde's mom! A big thank you to you both for all your work! Tickets go on sale on April 2, so don't miss your chance to get the best seats in the house! This Thursday, the main cast heads out to perform in Davenport, Iowa and Chicago, Illinois over the weekend, then on Sunday, another cast heads out to Shreveport, Louisiana for movie shoot for the 2009 film TEKKEN, and then while they're there, another cast heads out on Monday for Las Vegas to perform at the CTIA Wireless Conference for three days!

Just got back from a great weekend retreat with our kids from Kitsune Taiko! Thank you to the San Luis Obispo Buddhist Church and to all the instructors who coordinated and taught the kids over the weekend! We also just played during halftime for the LA Clippers game last week. Check out the video here!

New drums from Asano Taiko just arrived and we are happy, oh so happy. We added a few more chudaiko to our set, as well as new stands and some new percussion equipment. Also, this week, the lovely and talented Corky Ishikawa finished ten new okedo straps for us, so now all our okedo are slung up and ready to go. Thanks Corky!!! Finally, we've just been booked to perform two shows out in Logan, Utah this October. Come on out if you're in the area!

Just got back from workshopping collaborative material with San Francisco Taiko Dojo! Bryan attempted to do all of SFTD's training regimen, and now he is amazingly sore in numerous places. Props to SFTD. Come check us out on March 5 at the LA Clippers game at the Staples Center to see an exciting new version of Many Sides!!!

The trailer for the movie Redbelt just came out! We shot a scene for this movie last summer, but we don't know if we actually made it into the final edit. So, all we can say is "here's the movie trailer for the film we think we might be in!" It comes out May 2nd at a theatre near you...

We're back from Scottsdale, Arizona, where we performed for the grand opening of the Roka Akor Restaurant. And today, we're off to Las Vegas for a joint performance with Las Vegas Kaminari Taiko for Aerial Experience Productions. This coming weekend, we head up to San Francisco to work with San Francisco Taiko Dojo in preparation for this summer's Rhythmic Relations concerts! And then next week, we also meet with taiko maestro Kenny Endo about our joint concert in Honolulu planned for the end of June! Our next local performance is March 5 at the LA Clippers game at the Staples Center--come on out if you're free!

Bryan and Bruno do a quick recording session with Sam Spiegel of Squeak E. Clean Productions for an upcoming Nike commercial spot. We'll keep you posted when it will come out! In other news, this weekend we'll be in Scottsdale, Arizona for the opening of the Roka Akor restaurant, and then at the top of next week, back to Las Vegas for a performance with Aerial Experience Productions. In the meantime, hope you're making plans to come to our big show this summer with San Francisco Taiko Dojo, Rhythmic Relations 2008!
