04.12.09 Come see TP, Bombu Taiko, and Kitsune Taiko this Sunday, April 19 at 2:00 pm at the Monterey Park Cherry Blossom Festival! It's free, after all... also coming up in the next couple of weeks will be TP's appearance on MTV's The Phone show, produced by Justin Timberlake! We think we're going to be on the second episode...but we haven't really been told...so we're just going to watch and see...

03.26.09 TP has made it back home to LA! The final trip odometer count for the tour is 8,097 miles. Thank you to everyone who helped make the tour possible and who housed, fed, and took care of us on the road--we couldn't have done it without you all. Hope to see many of you again at the 2009 North American Taiko Conference in August, in Los Angeles! Next up for TP, the group heads to Bishop, California, for a short educational residency sponsored by the Inyo Arts Council, next weekend.

03.07.09 Yesterday's show at the Annenberg Center was a great success! Good sized house, really warm reception, and a good tech staff (which always makes things easier). Thanks to June and Gayle for all their work to bring us out and special thanks to Gayle, Gary, Kathy, and Gregor for housing us for our stay! Tonight, we perform in Stamford, Connecticut!

03.05.09 This week, TP worked with Philadelphia's Kyo Daiko several times, working on refining their version of "Omiyage" for a big performance in April. After Bombu and Kitsune in LA, they are probably the group we have workshopped "Omiyage" with the most!
03.03.09 School outreach day-today, TP performed for 300 schoolchildren at the Church of the Holy Redeemer, and then gave a beginner's workshop at the Asian Arts Initiative, both led by Jen and Yuri-good job guys!

02.22.09 Today, TP plays in the 81st Annual Academy Awards! We are performing in a musical medley for Best Song featuring "O-Saya" and "Jai-ho" from Slumdog Millionaire, and "Down to Earth" from the movie Wall-E. Also performing in the medley are composer/singer A.R. Rahman and John Legend.

01.15.09 In about a month, TP embarks on their longest tour ever! If you're on the East Coast or in the Midwest, come on out and see us! In other news, we are putting together our third DVD, with footage from "Rhythmic Relations 2008," our "(re)generation" show in 2007, and our other adventures over the last two years. It's looking like it'll be our best DVD yet! Stay tuned for updates on its release date...
