08.20.11 We're up at the 2011 North American Taiko Conference, conducting workshops and hanging out with old taiko friends and family. If you're in L.A. tomorrow, come check us out at the 71st Annual Nisei Week Festival Closing Ceremonies at 4:00 pm.
08.18.11 Catch us tonight on VH1's Do Something Awards, airing at 9 pm! We had a lot of fun performing for this great event, which recognizes some fantastic philanthropic work by young people across the country. Or, perhaps we'll see you this weekend at the 2011 North American Taiko Conference, where both Bryan and Maz are conducting workshops. Or, you can catch us back at home in LA this Sunday at the 71st Annual Nisei Week Festival, where we're performing at the Closing Ceremonies at 4:00 pm.
08.17.11 We have expanded our introductory youth class to two classes (ages 7-8 and 9-11) but we have received such a big response that we are only 1-2 spots away from filling up both classes. 08.15.11 Busy weekend! While the TP Away team was traveling from Idaho Falls to Wyoming for another concert program, the TP Home team rehearsed and performed for VH1's Do Something Awards, hosted by Jane Lynch of Glee! While we've done a bunch of awards shows now, this one further challenged us--playing in the big opening, closing, and five interstitials. Check it out when it airs Thursday night, August 18, at 9:00 pm on VH1! We also had a great time at our debut performance in Wyoming, hosted by Artcore Wyoming, thank you for bringing us out to your community. Also this week, Maz and David start driving over to the Taiko Conference, making stops along the way to conduct workshops with Kenshin Taiko and Reno Taiko.
08.13.11 Currently, Maz, Liz, and David are at the Idaho Oregon Buddhist Temple conducting workshops, and then they'll head out to Idaho Falls for the Snake River Roaring Youth Jam, and then end the tour at Artcore Wyoming, just in time to drive over to Stanford for the North American Taiko Conference!

08.06.11 Today, we're in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho to perform at the Art on the Green Festival! Come on out if you're nearby...although we figure most of you are not. 07.25.11 We are pleased to announce our next round of Youth Taiko Classes for kids aged 8 to 11. Email us at info[at]taikoproject.com for registration information. Classes will start in September and it is limited to only 12 students. This is our first new introductory youth taiko class in two years and our last one filled to capacity, so don't miss your chance to sign up your child today! 07.11.11 Thank you to everyone who came out to our sold-out concert at the 7th Annual U.K. Taiko Festival at the Northcott Theatre in Exeter. Special heartfelt thanks to Kagemusha Taiko and the Kirby family for all their efforts to bring us out for the concert and workshops. It is amazing to see how taiko has grown in the U.K. and how it continues to thrive. See you all at the Taiko Conference state-side in August! Time to head back to LA and finalize our set for the TedX Socal Conference. Check it out if you're in Long Beach next weekend.

06.28.11 Rhythmic Relations 2011 is over! What an amazing experience to share the stage with Ryutaro, and always a joy to share the stage with our TP family groups, Bombu Taiko, Kitsune Taiko, and Loma Pacific Taiko. Thank you to everyone who came to our shows, our BaseBeat 2011 donors, and especially, special thanks to all of our performers, and all the parents, grandparents, boyfriends and girlfriends who did everything to bring the show together. We couldn't have done it without your support and love. For that we are truly grateful.
06.24.11 Rhythmic Relations 2011 is TOMORROW! There are still a few tickets left, so come on by and see our show with Ryutaro Kaneko, one of the greatest taiko drummers in the world! That sounds grandiose, but come to our show and we think you'll agree! Our first show is at 2 pm on the JACCC Plaza, and our second show is at 7:30 pm. The first half of the show features TAIKOPROJECT with its family groups Bombu Taiko, Kitsune Taiko, and Loma Pacific Taiko. The second half features collaborative work developed over the last year between TP and Ryutaro. Hope to see you there!
06.21.11 Just wrapped our session on NBC's "The Voice." We had an awesome time working again with one of the country's top choreographers, Hi-Hat, and singer Vicci Martinez, who also made her taiko debut on the show tonight. Did you catch it? Tomorrow morning, Ryutaro Kaneko arrives in Los Angeles and we begin our final residency in preparation for the big show. The next four days are going to be pretty insane, but here we go!

05.02.11 May is here and TAIKOPROJECT, Bombu Taiko, and Kitsune Taiko all have gigs this month. Next weekend, you can check out Bombu at the Arigato Bazaar at the Centenary Methodist Church. The weekend after that, you can check out Kitsune Taiko at Children's Day at the JACCC, and then TP will be playing at some private events and conducting workshops at the Intercollegiate Taiko Invitational at UCLA.
